Veltech Engineering College was established with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi, for providing high quality technical education. Since then, it has been offering programmes leading to the award of B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA degrees of Anna University, Chennai. The high quality of technical education at Veltech earned accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for all the degree programmes. Now VEL TECH has been duly declared as DEEMED to be UNIVERSITY u/s 3 of the UGC Act1956 by the UGC and notified by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi.
The frequent advancements in the silicon industry and the application of electronics in all domestic and commercial processes has demanded the introduction of modern electronics in the automobiles ranging from the ignition control to the latest collision protection technologies which has stipulated our University to introduce a two year M.Tech programme on Automotive Electronics and Embedded Systems in association with Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). This course teaches the students from basic automotive electronics, covers the areas of Micro and digital controllers, latest communication protocols and real time operating system concepts. The admitted students will possess the knowledge to develop advanced electronics schematics and applications for increasing the efficiency, safety and emission capabilities of the vehicle. The students will study thirteen general core subjects in the University, four specialised core subjects & two specialised elective subjects in ARAI.
