Veltech group of educational institutions was established in 1990 by a well known industrialist couple dedicated to public service. Dr.R.Rangarajan and Dr.R. Sakunthala Rangarajan, who by then had 30 years of experience in developing industries and international trade. What took off as a modest school now stands as a monument of glory for “Chennai city”. A student volume of above 12,000 throng the various educational institutions of VEL TECH group.The aim is to be build a highly enriched reservoir of managerial and technically qualified man power. P.G. programes with ARAI, CDAC, SAIL, TATA STEEL ,TAFE ,FCRI are some of the unique industry linked programs .
This two year Masters Programme is conducted in association with Management Training Institute of Steel Authority of India Ltd, a Navratna Industry of Govt. of India. This course was specially designed to address the needs of the modern steel production and thus helping India to develop as a major steel producer. This course gives emphasis to the technologies and technicalities involved in steel production and also focus on the various research areas in steel processing and production. The students will spend minimum of 45 days in a semester at any of the SAIL Steel plants which will be centrally coordinated by MTI-SAIL and will be trained by scientists from SAIL. After the successful completion of the courses, the students will have the experience and knowledge to work on field in any steel industry.
