Veltech group of educational institutions was established in 1990 by a well known industrialist couple dedicated to public service. Dr.R.Rangarajan and Dr.R. Sakunthala Rangarajan, who by then had 30 years of experience in developing industries and international trade. What took off as a modest school now stands as a monument of glory for “Chennai city”. A student volume of above 12,000 throng the various educational institutions of VEL TECH group.
The recent introduction of new quality control policies and government of Indian Decision to introduce strict environmental control policies has insisted industries to go for modernised control and monitoring mechanisms. To cater this need of the industries the Academic Council of the University decided to introduce a 2 year PG course in Process Control & Instrumentation in association with Center for Development of Advanced Computing ( CDAC). Industries such as petrochemicals, paint, distilleries, power plants, lather and clothes, food processing are the industries which not only contribute to the growth of our GDP but also contributes to the increase in the environmental pollution. This is because of the unskilled human resource employed by these industries and the improper methodologies introduced by these employees. This course supplies the required trained man power that can design, develop and implements state of art automation and control technologies. To achieve this, the University deputes the students to various CDAC units for a minimum period of 2 semesters.
